PART 4: JUSTICE PREVAILS
Within ten minutes, two Internal Affairs squad cars arrived at the location, sirens blaring as they pulled up to the curb.
Sarah ordered the immediate suspension and arrest of Sergeant Tom Davis and his complicit team for extortion and assault under color of authority.
Tom stood silently in handcuffs, staring at the ground as his own former colleagues led him away to face criminal charges.
Sarah turned back to Mike, gently handing him his driver’s license, vehicle registration, and a direct business card from her office.
“You will never have to fear driving down this road again, Mike,” Sarah said with a warm, reassuring smile. “Thank you for your honesty.”
Tears filled Mike’s eyes as he thanked her endlessly, completely overwhelmed that a high-ranking official had stood up for a humble taxi driver.
Sarah climbed back into the passenger seat, taking a deep breath as the taxi continued its smooth journey toward her family home.
She arrived at her brother’s wedding on time, proud to serve not only as a protective police captain, but as a sister who always stood up for what was right.
