PART 2: THE RECKLESS THREAT
Sergeant Tom Davis turned his attention away from Mike and stared down at Sarah with sneering contempt.
He looked at her red dress and chuckled, assuming she was just another defenseless civilian interfering in police business.
“Mind your own business, lady,” Tom sneered, stepping closer into her personal space to intimidate her. “Or do you want to ride in the back of a squad car right alongside him?”
Mike gasped, desperately pulling at Sarah’s sleeve to warn her against pushing the corrupt officer any further.
“Please, ma’am, don’t get involved,” Mike whispered with a trembling voice. “He’ll arrest you too!”
Sarah didn’t flinch, holding Tom’s aggressive glare with a cold, unyielding composure that threw the sergeant off balance.
“You are abusing your power and dishonoring your uniform,” Sarah said firmly, her voice carrying absolute authority.
Tom’s face turned beet red as he drew his handcuffs, completely unaware of the rank of the woman he was about to touch.
