Part 3: The Boardroom Purge
“What documents?” Richard shouted, stepping forward frantically, his polished exterior completely fracturing. “Mateo broke into a private safe! Anything he took is inadmissible legally and corporately!”
“It isn’t inadmissible in a shareholder audit, Richard,” Arthur replied smoothly, nodding to his lead attorney.
The attorney opened his briefcase, pulling out a stack of red-stamped federal injunctions and certified bank ledgers. “Under Clause 14 of the Vance Global Trust,” the lawyer announced clearly, “any executive officer found guilty of misusing corporate funds for personal blackmail or illegal medical confinement automatically forfeits their executive authority and voting shares.”
The room erupted into furious murmurs. The reporters were typing frantically on their laptops, streaming the downfall of the city’s most powerful executive live to national news networks.
“You used company offshore accounts to pay off the clinic staff who kept Elena in a medically induced coma,” Mateo said, stepping toward his father, his voice ringing with absolute clarity. “You spent twenty years using my trust fund to silence the doctors, pay off the press, and keep my mother working as a maid in secret. You didn’t just break the law, Richard. You ruined two lives for corporate vanity.”
Victoria grabbed Richard’s arm, her voice rising in a hysterical shriek. “Richard, do something! Call our legal team! They’re taking everything!”
“Their legal team is currently being served at the corporate headquarters, Victoria,” Arthur said coldly. “And as of five minutes ago, the board of directors held an emergency vote. Richard, you are officially removed as Chief Executive Officer.”
