Secret Billionaire Wife Gala Revenge
A car horn sounded softly from the driveway, breaking the heavy silence in the kitchen.
Philip walked over to the window, glanced outside, and immediately straightened his shoulders. A warm, welcoming smile appeared on his face—a smile Giselle had not seen directed at her in years. He smoothed his tuxedo jacket and turned back toward his mother, offering her his arm.
“Vanessa is here,” Philip announced smoothly. “Her father’s firm secured our seat at the main table tonight, so it is only polite that she joins us. She understands how to navigate these environments.”
Fiona smiled warmly at her son, resting her manicured hand on his arm. “Vanessa is a delight. She comes from proper family stock and knows how to represent a man in public. Unlike some people who spend their days hiding in quiet comers.”
Giselle stood by the island, holding a dishcloth in her hands. She did not raise her voice or shed a single tear. For eight years, she had watched Philip take full credit for every property acquisition, every corporate expansion, and every financial victory. She had stayed quiet when his family dismissed her modest demeanor as simple insignificance. They believed she came from nothing, having met Philip when he was an ambitious young developer struggling to secure his first loan. They assumed the sprawling suburban estate they lived in belonged solely to the Clayton family legacy, completely unaware of whose signature was actually on the original deed.
“Make sure the kitchen is spotless before you go to sleep,” Philip said coldly as he opened the front door. “The caterers will be back early tomorrow morning, and I do not want them complaining about a messy workspace.”
Without waiting for an answer, Philip and Fiona walked out into the cool evening air. Through the large front window, Giselle watched as Vanessa stepped out of a luxury sedan, wearing a shimmering emerald gown. Philip greeted her with a gentle kiss on the forehead before opening the passenger door for her. Together, the three of them drove away toward the Grand Ballroom at the Bayfront Pavilion.
Giselle watched the red taillights vanish down the private drive. Once the estate grounds returned to total quiet, she tossed the dishcloth onto the counter and pulled her phone from her pocket.
She dialed a private number. It rang once.
“Good evening, Ms. Prescott,” a sharp, professional voice answered on the line. “The chauffeur is waiting at the lower gate. Your security detail is already positioned inside the venue.”
“Thank you, Arthur,” Giselle said, her voice clear, steady, and commanding. “Please have the obsidian gown ready in the dressing room at the pavilion. I will be leaving in five minutes.”
