Part 2
But in the blink of an eye, everything changed!
Barnaby didn’t crush the microchip, nor did he hurl it across the enclosure at the terrified guards.
Instead, he gently tucked the glowing device behind his left ear like a pencil, stood fully upright on his hind legs, and did something nobody in human history had ever witnessed an ape do 😲.
He reached behind the corner of the volcanic rock wall, pulled out a small, metallic pair of reading glasses, and carefully placed them onto his pale pink nose.
The entire security team dropped their radios in utter shock.
Dr. Reed stared in complete silence, her mouth wide open, completely speechless.
Barnaby adjusted the frame with one large finger, cleared his throat with a very human-sounding cough, and pointed directly toward the central control glass.
He wasn’t an ordinary gorilla at all.
He was the founder of the sanctuary himself, billionaire inventor Arthur Vance, who had been missing for over a decade!
Ten years prior, Arthur Vance had developed an revolutionary genetic camouflage suit designed to protect wild endangered species from poachers.
The suit was a masterpiece of biomechanical engineering, completely indistinguishable from real skin, muscle, and fur.
It replicated every physical aspect of a rare albino silverback gorilla down to the microscopic level.
However, during the suit’s final field test inside the private sanctuary, the internal zipper mechanism jammed, locking Arthur inside his own creation.
To make matters worse, his former business partner had betrayed him that very night, wiping Arthur’s identity from the national database and taking over the company.
Arthur had been stuck inside the high-tech gorilla suit for ten whole years, living in plain sight, pretending to be a zoo attraction while secretly plotting his revenge.
He had spent a decade eating bananas, enduring baby talk from tourists, and pretending to sleep while mentally calculating the exact code to unlock his suit’s emergency release system 🍌.
And today was the day the master battery was finally supposed to recharge completely.
Barnaby—or rather, Arthur—slowly reached up to the base of his neck, right beneath the thick layer of white fur.
He pressed a hidden pressure point hidden deep within the fold of his left shoulder.
