THE VANISHING DATES

PART 2: THE CHILLING TEXTS

Rachel’s hands were shaking so violently that she almost dropped her phone onto the pavement.

On the screen was an anonymous text message sent at 2:00 a.m. the night of their date, accompanied by a high-resolution photo of Rachel sitting inside the restaurant with my father.

Below the photograph was a stark, menacing warning: If you ever see Richard again, your family will suffer the consequences. Stay away from him if you value your life.

“I was terrified,” Rachel whispered, tears welling in her eyes as she pulled her jacket tighter around herself. “Someone was watching us from the moment we sat down at the table.”

My jaw dropped as I stared at the screen, a surge of adrenaline replacing the cold knot in my stomach. It wasn’t my father driving these women away—someone was actively hunting down anyone who tried to get close to him.

Determined to trace the source of the messages, I immediately took a screenshot of the threat and sent it to my cousin Mark, a private investigator specializing in digital forensics.
