PART 4: A NEW BEGINNING
At noon, Kevin drove up to our house alone, walking into the kitchen with his head bowed low and eyes red from crying.
He looked at his mother’s bandaged hand, then at the empty coffee can beneath the register that used to hold her savings for the oven repairs.
“I’m so sorry, Mom,” Kevin sobbed, dropping to his knees beside her chair just like he used to when he was a heartbroken little boy. “I let pride blind me to what really matters.”
He handed Gloria an envelope containing six hundred dollars to reimburse her savings, alongside an official confirmation that he had personally paid to install a brand-new commercial oven at Gloria’s Corner.
Kayla arrived an hour later on her own, hugging her grandmother tightly and apologizing for letting her mother’s arrogance ruin what should have been a cherished family tradition.
While Tiffany faced the embarrassing consequences of her vanity, our family learned a powerful lesson about respect, honor, and true love.
Gloria’s small restaurant blossomed with new community support, and our home remained a place where love, hard work, and genuine family always came first.
