PART 4: FREEDOM AND DIGNITY
Theo was escorted off the premises in disgrace, leaving behind a ruined reputation and a mountain of unpaid debt he had personally accumulated.
Instead of ending the night in tears, I grabbed a fresh towel, kicked off my drenched heels, and raised a champagne glass to the remaining guests.
“The wedding is over, but the party has just begun!” I announced, as my father wrapped a warm coat around my shoulders with a proud smile.
The DJ turned up the music, and for the rest of the night, my true friends and family danced under the stars, celebrating my freedom rather than my marriage.
I realized that being pushed into that pool was the best thing that ever happened to me, because it washed away the illusion and revealed the strength I always had.
Walking away from the estate that night, holding my father’s hand and looking up at the clear sky, I knew I had saved my own life—and my future had never looked brighter.
