PART 2: STRIPPED OF EVERYTHING
The morning after Michael publicly humiliated a homeless teenager outside their family-owned restaurant, his father called him into the study. There were no raised voices or furious speeches, only a quiet, deadly calm in the older man’s eyes.
Michael smiled, expecting another harmless lecture about public relations, but his father simply placed a small envelope on the desk. Inside was a single bus ticket and a set of keys to an abandoned apartment on the edge of the city.
“Your cards are blocked, your phone is revoked, and as of this moment, you are no longer an employee of this company,” his father said softly. “You will live on the street level for thirty days with only twenty dollars in your pocket.”
Michael laughed out loud, assuming it was an elaborate joke, but two security guards stepped into the room to escort him off the property. Stripped of his designer suit and luxury watch, he was left standing on a cold, rain-slicked curb with nowhere to go.
By the second night, the bitter cold set in, and the constant gnawing pain of hunger began to twist his stomach into knots. Sitting in the dark alleyway, he watched wealthy passersby walk past him, shielding their eyes with the very same disgust he had shown others just days before.
