PART 3: THE UNMASKING AT THE ALTAR
On the morning of the grand wedding, Julian and Serena stood before hundreds of high-society guests, thoroughly convinced their secret plans had succeeded.
Serena looked radiant in her white gown, though her head remained bare without the sparkling crown she had bragged about for months.
Just as the officiant asked if anyone knew any legal reason why the couple should not be joined, the heavy cathedral doors swung wide open.
I walked down the central aisle dressed in an exquisite navy dress, flanked by two corporate investigators and Arthur Vance holding a leather binder.
Silence descended upon the sanctuary as Arthur presented the signed arrest warrants and fraud injunctions to Julian right in front of the altar.
“Julian Hart, you are under arrest for corporate embezzlement, grand larceny, and the illegal sale of stolen trust assets,” the lead investigator announced loudly.
Serena shrieked in horror as officers stepped forward to place handcuffs on Julian’s wrists, his arrogant facade dissolving into sheer, pathetic panic.
