PART 4: FREEDOM RESTORED
Daniel’s face drained of all color as he snatched the document from my hand, his eyes scanning the ironclad legal signatures in utter horror.
“This can’t be real!” Daniel panicked, turning violently on Vivian. “You told me you controlled his fortune! You said she had nothing!”
Vivian stumbled backward, clutching her pearl necklace as the reality of her total financial exclusion set in before all of high society.
Process servers waiting in the back pews stepped forward instantly, delivering fraud indictments directly into Daniel’s trembling hands.
He had tied himself legally to a penniless woman, forfeiting his career, his reputation, and his freedom for an inheritance that was never hers to give.
I turned my back on the chaotic arguing at the altar, walking out of the cathedral into the warm, bright sunlight.
Standing by my father’s car, I took a deep breath of fresh air, feeling the profound peace of a future built on truth and self-respect.
I drove away toward the estate that was now mine, ready to honor my father’s legacy with honor, strength, and complete independence.
