The Golden Stag: How a Shimmering Diamond Painting Unlocked a Lost Empire

Part 2

The Million-Dollar Mosaic Under the Hammer

The grand ballroom of the Horizon Auction House hummed with a tense, low vibration that only a room full of competitive billionaires could produce. Overhead, crystal chandeliers cast sharp fractures of light across the velvet-draped stage where the main attraction stood covered by a heavy silk cloth. Whispers rippled through the front rows as art critics, eccentric collectors, and corporate tycoons checked their bidding paddles, all drawn by the rumor of an unprecedented diamond painting canvas that had supposedly bypassed every traditional art market filter. 🏛️ ✨

Behind the heavy red curtains, Clara took a deep breath, her fingers lightly tracing the raised, textured surface of the completed diamond painting. The piece was an absolute marvel of modern craftsmanship and hidden geometry. A magnificent stag, built from thousands of precisely placed resin drills, stared out from a rich, solid mustard-yellow background. The antlers branched upward like ancient, twisting trees, heavily laden with deep emerald-green spheres and shimmering gold beads that caught every stray beam of light. It was a flawless diamond mosaic, but to the trained eye, the placement of the floral accents and beaded strands across the deer’s chest formed a complex, woven tapestry of mathematical coordinates.

“Ten seconds, Clara,” the stage manager whispered, checking his headset with a grim expression. “The director wants this over with quickly. If the bidding doesn’t cross the reserve price in two minutes, we are pulling the lot.”

Clara nodded, stepping back into the shadows as Marcus joined her side, his knuckles white as he gripped the wooden frame of the display stand. “If Arthur Vance realizes what you did with the grid map, we won’t make it out of this building alive,” Marcus muttered under his breath, his eyes fixed on a menacing, silver-haired man sitting in the center VIP box. 🛋️ 👀

“He won’t realize anything until he owns it,” Clara replied calmly. “And by then, the contract will be legally binding…….”
