Part 2: The Bedroom Trap

Part 3: The Ultimatum

Kathryn’s face shifted from humiliation to pure venom as she tried to salvage her dignity. “I was looking for an extra set of guest towels!” she lied, her voice rising in pitch. “I thought she might have stored them in here!”

“You thought guest towels were hidden beneath my silk bras?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. “Kathryn, you’ve been going through my private drawers for months, rearranging my things, and treating my home like your personal inspection site.”

Austin stepped between us, looking at his mother’s purple hands, finally realizing how indefensible her behavior had been all along. “Mom… you lied to me. You told me you were just helping around the house.”

“I was protecting you, Austin!” Kathryn snapped, abandoning her towel story entirely. “A mother has a right to know what kind of woman her son married! I was checking to see if she was hiding anything from you!”

I walked over to the nightstand, picked up a pre-signed set of legal documents, and handed them directly to Austin.

“When I told you about this last week, you told me your mother had every right to check on my home,” I said, looking my husband straight in the eye. “So here is my choice for you, Austin. Either your mother leaves this house right now and is banned from setting foot inside our home until she gets professional help for her boundary issues… or you can take those divorce papers and pack your bags to leave with her.”

To see Austin’s choice and the ultimate outcome, continue reading below for the final part.
