part 2
But in the blink of an eye, everything changed!
Titan raised his massive chest, preparing to roar and assert his brutal dominance over the isolated mother and child.
He pounded his chest with thunderous thuds that shook the leaves off the surrounding bushes and echoed across the ravine.
Kisa braced herself, lowering her center of gravity and flashing her own sharp teeth in a desperate warning.
She knew she was severely outmatched by the giant rogue silverback in raw strength and size.
Yet the sheer instinct of a mother protecting her newborn burned hotter inside her than any fear.
She pressed Pip firmly against her belly, holding him tight with her left arm while her right hand dug into the damp soil.
Titan lunged forward two steps, roaring a deafening battle cry that sent birds screaming into the grey sky above.
He raised his arm to strike the ground right in front of them to intimidate Kisa into fleeing without her baby.
In that heart-stopping moment, tiny Pip did something that nobody could have ever anticipated.
Instead of cowering into his mother’s fur or squealing in terror, the tiny infant leaned outward from Kisa’s arm.
He pushed his little chest out, stared directly into the terrifying face of the giant silverback, and let out the smallest, squeakiest squeak imaginable. 🐭
It was no louder than a tiny squeaky toy, completely ridiculous in the face of Titan’s monstrous roar.
Pip then slapped his tiny palm twice against his own chest, mimicking the giant silverback with utter seriousness.
His round hazel eyes were wide open, full of pure, fearless attitude as if he believed he was fifty feet tall.
Titan froze mid-stride, his raised arm hanging uselessly in the air as he stared at the microscopic creature in utter disbelief.
The massive rogue gorilla blinked once. Then twice. 😯
He lowered his enormous head, leaning in closer to examine the tiny fluffball that had just tried to challenge him.
Pip didn’t flinch or look away for a single second.
He kept his small brow furrowed in that same deep, hilarious concentration, staring straight into Titan’s ferocious eyes.
Then, Pip reached out his tiny hand toward Titan’s giant, scarred face, completely fearless of the killer standing before him.
Titan slowly backed up half an inch, looking completely bewildered by the small creature’s audacity.
The giant silverback, who had struck terror into the hearts of full-grown males across the entire mountain range, looked utterly confused.
He tilted his massive head to the side, sniffing the air softly as he looked at Pip’s tiny fingers reaching into the mist.
