But in the blink of an eye, everything changed!

Samson took three huge steps backward, digging his heavy heel pads into the dark muddy soil to build maximum momentum.

He bent his thick, powerful knees, crouching low like a compressed steel spring ready to detonate.

He unleashed another roaring cry that rattled the teeth of every creature within five miles.

He launched his six-hundred-pound body off the edge of the cliff into the empty air!

For two incredible seconds, time seemed to stop completely.

Samson flew through the mist like a dark, glorious comet, defying the very laws of physics.

His heavy fist was still raised high, frozen in the air as if he were punching the sky itself.

Pippin’s jaw hit the ground on the opposite side of the ravine.

The tiny chimp couldn’t believe a gorilla of Samson’s size was actually flying through the sky toward him.

But mid-air, Samson suddenly realized a very crucial tactical mistake.

He had calculated his strength, his speed, and his trajectory with absolute perfection.

What he had forgotten to calculate was the weight of his breakfast.

Halfway across the massive gorge, gravity remembered that Samson was not a bird.

His majestic forward flight abruptly turned into a steep, terrifying downward plunge!

Samson’s dramatic war face instantly melted into a look of sheer panic as he began falling straight into the thick fog below.

He reached out blindly with both arms, flailing his giant hands through the empty air.

Just as he was about to fall into the abyss, his right hand slammed around a thick, rubbery root dangling from the cliff wall.

The root stretched like a giant rubber band, snapping Samson backward and slamming his backside straight into the muddy wall of the gorge.

He slid down twenty feet before landing with a squishy THUD onto a small, hidden grassy ledge right in the middle of the cliff face 🌿.

He lay there on his back, staring up at the patch of sky, his tongue hanging out of his wide-open mouth in total exhaustion.

He blinked through the mud on his eyelashes, letting out a wheezing breath that sounded like a deflating tire.

He was alive, unhurt, but thoroughly humiliated.

Above him, Pippin peered over the edge of the cliff, letting out a tiny, cautious chatter.

Samson sat up slowly, wiping mud off his forehead and brushing twigs out of his thick shoulder fur.

That was when he noticed something extremely strange about the ledge he had landed on.

It was not just a random patch of dirt stuck to the side of the mountain.

It was a completely hidden, pristine shelf of rock, bathed in warm sunlight that never reached the jungle floor.

And right in the center of this secret ledge grew something that made Samson’s eyes pop out of his head.

It was an entire grove of ancient, wild Golden Mango trees!

Not just one single fruit like the one Pippin had stolen.

There were dozens upon dozens of ripe, shimmering golden mangoes hanging low from the branches, dripping with sweet nectar.

It was a tropical paradise that no ground animal or climbing chimp had ever discovered in the entire history of the forest.

Samson looked up at Pippin, who was still looking down with a mixture of pity and terror.

Then Samson looked back at the hundreds of golden fruits surrounding him on the ledge.

The anger in his chest dissolved instantly, replaced by a warm wave of triumphant satisfaction.
